Right, how on earth do we begin describing Guildford quartet Static Plan ? Well we could give you the facts obviously, the band consist of Kyle Mackenzie on vocals, Jonno Lloyd on Guitars, Ben Martin on Bass, and Greg Webber on drums and in the short time they have been together there has been quite a buzz building around them, enhanced by the recent release of their self titled debut EP..
Listening to Static Plan, the first thing that springs to my mind is “Kat would love this”. Think Nine Inch Nails meets Soundgarden meets Alice In Chains and you won’t be a million miles away from their blend of overt industrial elements over a bedrock of good old fashioned grunge. There’s something comfortingly familiar about the tracks on the EP, without them venturing into clone territory.
What they do may not be particularly original, but there is no denying that they carry it off with style and it’s something that fans of the genre should certainly be paying attention to.

We formed in 2011 at the Academy of Contemporary Music in Guildford, Surrey. After a couple of months of getting to know each other, practicing and beginning to write together, we decided we wanted it to go somewhere and got ourselves a drummer. After a few drummer changes and writing self-recording our debut EP over the latter months of 2011/ early months of 2012, we are promoting our wares and gigging as often as possible around the South East of England.
Career Highlight :
Supporting Lafaro and Starseed, getting to the finals of the Kent Bandquest competition
Future Plans :
We are recording our next release mid-June and will be releasing a seven-part series of acoustic sessions over the course of seven weeks on Youtube, from June 14th. We are also playing a couple of summer festivals and gigging as always!
