CB Spotlight : The Amorettes

Band Information :
Band Name : The Amorettes
Year Formed : 2009
Location : West Lothian, Scotland

Current Lineup :
Gillian Montgomery – Lead vocals/guitar
Hannah Mckay – Drums/Backing Vocals
Heather Mckay – Bass/Backing vocals

Brief History :
The band formed in early 2009 after Hannah and Gillian met at music college and discovered a shared love of rock n roll! With a dream to start an all female classic hard rock outfit, these two set out to find like minded women to join the as yet untitled Amorettes, after some lineup changes, they eventually found the missing piece of the puzzle in Hannah’s little sister, Heather. And lo! The Amorettes were born and have been playing together ever since!!

Career Highlight :
The Amorettes biggest gig to date came when they were offered the chance to play alongside heavy metal demons W.A.S.P. in the winter of 2010 at the Glasgow Garage. A complete fluke, the band were asked to fill in at the very last minute when the original support were stuck in customs. This was a dream come true for the band as they cite W.A.S.P. a major influence on their sound and look….well Heather does anyway!

Plans For The Future :
The band will continue to record many more albums, play bigger and bigger shows and continue to develop and make a name for themselves as the worlds greatest female hard rock oufit!! and p.s. support Iron Maiden!!

Interesting Stuff :
Our debut album “Haulin Ass” recieved 8/10 in Classic Rock Magazine exactly 3 months after its release in May 2010!

Ideal tour-mates : Airbourne or Iron Maiden (one day……)

Dream rider : Ginsters pasties and Irn Bru
