There’s a long line of guitar driven bands coming out of Leeds at the moment, not many are as heavy as Wizard’s Beard though. Second album ‘Four Tired Undertakers’ is a sludgy-doom slogathon of a record.
Not a listen to be taken lightly but give it a few spins and it starts to pay off. The album is dominated by slow chugging doom tracks echoing Electric Wizard. It’s when they step up a gear they start to shine brighter; EyeHateGod comes to mind on more upbeat sludgy jaunts like ‘Seeth Inside’.
Definitely one to watch out for on the road.
