Pro-Pain – 20 Years Of Hardcore

They Say :- Aggressive, meticulous, passionate, righteous – all distinguishing traits that have come to symbolize the fundamentals of metal/hardcore pioneers PRO-PAIN. Since their crushing 1992 NAIRD nominated debut album “Foul Taste Of Freedom”, PRO-PAIN have become a staple in the diets of heavy music listeners around the globe.

With “20 Years Of Hardcore” New York´s hardcore legend celebrates just as you´d expect them to do: loud and without any compromises! The CD+DVD set is a must-have for every fan of the band: the CD includes 4 brand new studio songs, 4 re-recorded band classics, the Böhse Onkelz cover version “Keine Amnestie Für MTV“ and 14 live tracks, while the DVD comes up with live recordings from several festivals + fan-filmed-footage & specials.
“20 Years Of Hardcore” is a piece of music history.

We Say :- So… Pro-Pain have been going for 20 years, and to celebrate that fact they have released a compilation album spanning those two decades. Being an absolute monster, the album has 23 tracks, 4 of which are brand new, 4 being re-recorded tracks from past albums, a cover version (in GERMAN), and a 14 song live set from a concert in the Czech Republic.

Pro-Pain have released 13 studio albums, 2 compilation albums, a live album, and a live DVD over the past 20 years, and seem to be doing what they do best with this latest release, Just to remind us (again) of how good they are.

With the punk and metal influences still at the fore, the new tracks are exactly what you would expect. Hard hitting drums, wailing and screaming guitars, and the voice. The voice just sounds dirty. Like this guy wakes up in the morning and has a bowl of razors and gravel for breakfast.

Everyday.

You really do need to hear these new tracks, they’ll give you what you have been missing since Absolute Power. The 5 new tracks, well, they have a ‘je ne sais quoi’ feel to them – just revamped, reworked, but still as good as the original pieces.

Now… I’ve never seen Pro-Pain live, but from this album you get some idea as to what it would be like – what they would be like. Tight as hell, and fantastic musicians who know how to perform. This live set for me beats most live recordings that have been released over the last few years.

So… You want something hard and heavy? Grab this while you can.

And when you do listen to it, make sure it’s fucking loud.
