We Say :- Welcome to the first in our series of CackBlabbath spotlight features, where we will feature some of the best music you have never heard. Kicking things off we introduce “the Loudest 3-piece Ireland has ever produced”, A Little Bitter. This proper old-school power trio take a large slice of proper heavy metal, mix it on with a dollop of of Grungey guitar sound and top it all off with an impressive progressive, melodic feel.
Just when you think that you’ve heard all there is to hear from the Northern Irish music scene, another band come along and stake their claim for a place in the pantheon of brilliant bands emanating from the Emerald Isle. Brief History :
Hailing from Northern Ireland, “A Little Bitter” have just released their 2 albums “The Blood” & “New Dawn Evolution”.
The band’s output was recorded at Manor Park studios with renowned producer Neal Calderwood (Therapy, Clutch, The Answer, Fighting With Wire, In Case Of Fire). New Dawn Evolution shows a marked growth in the overall band sound. It’s Heavier – Battlesong & Genghis, Progressive – Dark Tide and for the first time on record an acoustic element, Twist Her. All round New Dawn Evolution builds on the powerful foundation that the band laid with their debut album “The Blood”.
Influences range from ACDC, Metallica, Rush, Alice In Chains and Pearl Jam merged with a singer/songwriter lyrical sensibility. The band creates music that can be enjoyed with Horns in the air and a beer in hand or with headphones on to pick up the finer intricacies. Jonny’s vocals have a power & fragility likened to Corey Taylor meets Adam Duritz with a Chris Cornell middle ground.
“New Dawn Evolution” the bands sophomore album was released on May 1st 2009.
