@Twitrfest 1 full lineup, and the first press release

CackBlabbath are proud to announce @Twitrfest, an evening of top-notch Punk, Rock and Metal showcasing some of the best unsigned bands from the UK and further afield.

@Twitrfest was born out of a discussion on the Twitter social networking site about how difficult it could be for bands to get decent gigs. Rather than sit back and bemoan this situation the team behind the CackBlabbath webzine hatched a plan to organise a rather special event to get some of our favorite bands together in one place. I mean how hard could it be …

  • Ask some of the bands on Twitter if they wanted to play
  • Find a venue
  • Use the power of social networking, along with ‘traditional’ media, to promote the gig.
  • Have a bloody good night
  • Benefit a worthy cause

From this simple beginning the plans grew as more bands agreed to play the festival. Because of it’s central location and reputation for loving live music Birmingham was chosen as the location, and at an early stage it was decided to make it a charity gig in aid of Solihull and Birmingham Woman’s Aid.

The list of bands performing includes some of the best unsigned acts from Northern Ireland, England Wales and even Norway. It promises to be an unforgettable evening.

The full lineup consists of…

Furyon
“The UK’s best new metal band” – Guitarist

Triaxis
“A genuinely creative spark and passion… Intricately woven together with a taught melodic thread” – Zero Tolerance

Dakesis
“A group with the complete package and some real potential” – Surface Unsigned

Sassy Kraimspri
“Possessed of a range that veers from snarling pop-punk to yearning balladry without an instant’s pause” – DemonPigeon.com
