What’s been the band’s highlight of 2010 ?
Well 2010 has been an exceptional year. From releasing our debut album Death of a Rockstar in May (to great critical acclaim) to touring with some amazing bands, its been a rollercoaster. Tour highlights have definitely been support slots with The Black Mollys, The Black Spiders, Dave Evans (ex-AC/DC frontman), The More I See (feat. Ex-Prodigy guitarist Gizz Butt) and of course our full UK Tour with Neil Buchanan’s (Art Attack fame) Marseille. However the biggest highlight ever was securing the No1 slot on Kerrang TVs most requested chart. That was just indescribable as we are all fans of the channel and to see our music video on there in the first place was immense but to have it reach No1 in a Kerrang TV chart was awesome.
Thinking back to a year ago, have you achieved what you hoped to ?
Yes and more. We started 2010 with a remit of securing professional management and greatly increasing our visibility in the UK rock and metal community. By May we had secured our management in the way of Rocksector and as I type this we can safely say we definitely exceeded our tour target and the amount of press we expected to receive.
What are the ambitions for the coming year ?
Well we are releasing our second album mid 2011 and we think it will be a record extremely well received first and foremost by our fans but hopefully by our piers and critics. We would also like to make serious in-roads into becoming full-time touring musicians. Its hard to make that full and final transition in the 21st Century but we are literally teetering on the edge of it now – I guess we just need to jump hahaha!
Where would you like to see the band this time next year ?
Pretty much the same as above – full time touring. Hopefully we can extend our success to Europe and the USA. We have already worked up some decent fans in Europe and the US via the usual social networking sites and itunes etc etc but it would be nice to get our feet on their soil and rock the hell out of them.
If you could play one UK festival next year, which one would it be ?
I know you said one but all of them would be great hahaha. Of course securing a slot at download, Sonisphere or Hard Rock Hell V would simply make 2011 immense.
What has been your favourite album of 2010 ?
Well Adam has been listening to Deftones – Diamond Eyes and loving it where as I (Roy) have been pretty much locked onto Shinedowns Sound of Madness – that is one incredible record from start to finish.
And what is the best gig you have seen in 2010 ?
Muse @ Old Trafford Cricket Ground, September 2010.
2011 looks like being a good year for gigs, any you are particularly looking forward to ?
Well at present our management are working on the first tour of the year which will start early March. The highlight of which is our trip over to Belgium to play Wizzfest – that is gonna be awesome.
If you could go on tour with any band or musician, who would you pick ?
Nickelback, Foo Fighters or Metallica – ‘nuff said!!
What would you like Santa to bring you ?
Booze, money………and KFC!! Haha!
